Christine Brown

Thank you for all the kind tributes made and donations to St Mary's Hospice and The Golden Lion. Her family were very moved by the kind thoughts and words.

For your information - the Golden Lion is the dilapidated building , surrounded by fencing in Cannon Hill Park. A group is working to reinstate it to its former glory. Chris was involved in this project.

Chris has been laid to rest at Meadow Glades, Kings Norton Cemetery. Her family are more than happy for anyone to visit.

The Next BDAC Secretary.

Chris came to me following the 2005 AGM and said she would like to give the secretary's position "a go". It was something completely different for her, she hadn't done anything like it before. She accepted guidance and advice. ........ Well 12 years later, WOW! Chris put her own personality into the work. She emphasised communication, personal interaction and determination to see that allotment holders and committees were supported. She was honest in her views and has done much to raise the profile of the BDAC.

The next secretary will not be expected to do the work in the same way but have the same outlook in supporting and advising committees and individual tenants. We will not be looking for a carbon copy of Christine Brown - not possible BUT we do need someone willing to have the similar attitude ie. to "give it a go" which were Chris's words to me.

Be assured you will get all the help you want or need.
